Cascade website content management system to receive upgrade

Cascade, the web content management system behind many of Purdue’s websites, will be upgraded this spring, a move that will improve the service’s loading time but will dramatically change Cascade’s look and feel.

Changes coming with the upgrade include:

• Optimized menus to make working in Cascade easier.
• Updated interface for using Cascade on phones and tablets.
• Better bulk change experience for making site-wide changes to websites.
• Improved search and replace functions inside Cascade to help users find content and pages that need updated more quickly.

Cascade users will be contacted via email in mid-February with a link to a test version of the upgraded system. Users will receive instructions on how to test their websites and report problems to ITaP. The testing also is an opportunity to begin becoming familiar with the new interface.

After the testing period, the full upgrade of Cascade is expected to take place in late March. For more information about the new features, visit the Cascade CMS 8 knowledge base page.
