Why is Purdue making this change?

Advantages of MDE include enhanced endpoint protection, improved detection and response capabilities and better integration with the Microsoft security ecosystem. This transition also simplifies management by leveraging existing Microsoft licensing.  Additional benefits include unified security investigations across endpoint, identity, email and cloud; automated threat investigation and remediation; and enhanced threat intelligence through Microsoft's global security telemetry.
