Purdue launches AppsAnywhere software portal systemwide
Purdue students, faculty and staff can now access Purdue-licensed academic software from anywhere through the AppsAnywhere portal. AppsAnywhere is a web-based solution that allows users to access licensed software off campus. AppsAnywhere is Purdue’s primary platform for remote access to licensed software and replaces the legacy Citrix Software Remote service.
“We’re excited to implement the AppsAnywhere platform across the Purdue University system,” said Dwight Snethen, senior director of end user experience. “The College of Engineering has been successfully using the platform for several years, so we know AppsAnywhere is able to support even the most demanding and GPU-intensive applications.”
Software availability is determined by licensing agreements, campus affiliation, department, course enrollment, and academic program requirements. Users will only see software for which they are authorized. Connection to the Purdue VPN is recommended.
