After a successful three-month pilot phase, Purdue IT’s Device as a Service, a self-service process to order Windows and Apple computer hardware for individual users, is officially in production. Orders can be placed through the new hardware procurement form.
“Using feedback from testers, the new form streamlines the procurement process and creates a one stop location, so end users can easily pick the Apple or Windows machine they want along with any accessories and place the order,” said Deanna Shafer-Rater, Director, Endpoint Management Services. “This streamlining gives control to the end user for the ordering process while allowing computing staff to focus more on support issues rather than procurement of machines.”
