In continued effort to keep Purdue University secure, Purdue Systems Security will implement mandatory cybersecurity awareness training for Purdue University faculty and staff systemwide beginning on Thursday, February 15, 2024. The Verizon 2023 Data Breach Investigations Report indicates that 74% of all breaches include the human element, with people being involved either via Error, Privilege Misuse, Use of stolen credentials or Social Engineering. According to IBM’s annual report, the average cost of data breaches for higher education institutions was up to $3.7 million in 2023. Improving our cybersecurity awareness helps protect Purdue and you.
Individuals will receive notification via SuccessFactors with instructions to complete the process. They can also access the training by going to SuccessFactors -> My Learning.
