Cascade content management system to be upgraded March 26

Cascade, the content management system behind many of Purdue’s websites, will be upgraded on Tuesday, March 26, and Cascade will be inaccessible during the upgrade.

Cascade is scheduled to be unavailable from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No webpages can be updated or published during that time, but all websites will remain visible to the public and website content will not be affected.

The upgrade will make significant changes to Cascade’s user interface. Cascade users should have received an email that included a link to a test version of the upgrade and instructions on how to test their websites and become familiar with the new interface.

Benefits coming with the upgrade include:

  • Optimized menus to make working in Cascade easier.
  • Updated interface for using Cascade on phones and tablets.
  • Better bulk change experience for making site-wide changes to websites.
  • Improved search and replace inside Cascade to help users find and update content and pages more quickly.

A Cascade users’ group meeting focused on the upgrade will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, with limited space in the Krannert Center for Executive Education, Room 124, and virtually online via WebEx.
