Instructors invited to virtual discussion about creating student engagement online

Instructors with questions about how to get students involved and keep them engaged in online classes can attend a virtual panel discussion hosted as part of Purdue Innovative Learning’s Tech Today series from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, May 1.

 The hour-long session, delivered via WebEx, will focus on practices and strategies for creating engagement, while potentially reducing instructor workload. Practices featured include the use of teams for projects and peer feedback. Panel members will include Jennifer Richardson, professor of learning design and technology, Matt Ohland, professor of engineering education, and Kate Kozikowski, educational technology advisor.

In addition to sharing instructional practices, the presenters will also demonstrate two instructional tools (CATME and Circuit) that can be implemented in courses to help promote student engagement.

Those unable to attend live will be able to watch a recorded version of the webinar, which will be posted later to the Teaching Remotely webpage.
