Purdue IT hosts food drive through Nov. 17

Purdue IT's Jill Lynn and Dwight Snethen are leading the charge to reinstate a committee dedicated to planning events geared toward engaging Purdue IT employees in friendship, fellowship and service, regardless of location.

To kick off the season of Thanksgiving, the first event is a food drive, which will run through Nov. 17.

How can you get involved?

  • Volunteer: The committee is looking for representation from each IT unit in West Lafayette, as well as volunteers from Indianapolis, Purdue Fort Wayne and Purdue Northwest. (One volunteer per unit/location.)
  • Donate Food: Drop-off locations are set up at Purdue West Lafayette, Purdue Northwest and *Purdue Fort Wayne. You can also donate directly to your local food bank. (Check your location for a list of most-needed items.)
    • PWL: CONV 3700, STEW B12 (staff can also collect in their individual support areas)
    • PFW: IT Service Desk (Hammond - Powers Building Room 216; Westville - LSF Room 206)
    • PNW: IT Service Desk (Kettler Hall, Room 206)
  • Donate Funds: Monetary donations are an efficient way to help. As little as $1 can provide up to 4 meals for people in need. They can also cover program costs such as salaries, gas for delivery trucks, etc. (Note: Purdue IT cannot accept monetary donations. Please donate directly to the organization of your choice.)

*We understand PFW is also currently running a campuswide food drive. If you have already donated or plan to donate directly through that, let Jill and Dwight know. Regardless of where or how you donate, what's important is we're supporting those in need!

Donation Facilities:

Thank you in advance to all the volunteers, donors and supporters! If you’re interested in volunteering or joining the committee, please email Jill at lynn10@purdue.edu.
